Active Breaks Challenge: January 19th- February 13th

The Active Breaks Challenge, 2026 was supported by the GAA, who worked with the Active School Flag team, creating a set of movement break videos to support the Active Breaks Challenge, each of which was filmed at a different location around Croke Park.

Classes got a behind-the-scenes look at where the team buses arrive, inside the players’ dressing rooms and the warm up areas where legends get game ready. In addition, they learnt interesting facts about Croke Park.

Teachers and their classes committed to a movement break, every day, across the 4 weeks of the challenge.

Maths Week- using the Active School Walkway: October 11th- 19th

During Maths Week, the children participated in a Maths Walkway Challenge.  Classes had to locate two letters on each Walkway sign. Each letter was equal to a number. Once they figured out the corresponding  numbers, they had to
ADD or MULTIPLY the two numbers and record their answers!

‘SKIP Around the World’ Challenge- October 6th- 24th 2025

Skip Around the World’ was a whole-of-school challenge that integrated physical activity into the school day.

All classes, at all levels,  were encouraged to build a short skipping break into their daily routines across the 3 weeks of the challenge.

Working together as a class, and as a school, the combined skips allowed the kids to ‘travel’ to many of the world’s most famous locations.
