3rd and 4th class planted Beetroot in our school garden.

Competition between some Senior infants to see who can balance their acrobatic clown on their finger for the longest.
Senior infants investigated balance and the centre of gravity by making these Acrobatic Clowns from Cereal boxes and adding a 5c coin to each hand of the clown to make it balance on their fingers or on the rim of a glass.
2nd, 3rd and 4th class learned all about the digestive system!
Spring has Sprung here in Scoil Mhuire as Junior and Senior Infants go on a flower hunt around the school, identifying and naming some garden flowers.

Linking numeracy and literacy to Science. When the junior infants catch the fish with their magnetic fishing rods, they must then answer the sum or read the tricky word.
Magnetism: More Junior and Senior infants using magnets to fish for their tricky words and different Maths sums.

- A raw egg will wobble around the table slowly.
- A boiled egg will spin quickly on a hard surface.
First and Second class discovered that lemon juice, baking soda and water mixed created a chemical reaction and blew up this balloon.

THE SOLAR SYSTEM: presentation by Junior and Senior Infants!
Environmental awareness and care: Junior and Senior Infants teaching the bigger kids all about "The Solar System". They used different size balls to reflect the size of the different planets, and shared all the interesting facts they've learned about the various planets. We were most amazed to learn that you can fit around 1.3 million Earths in the Sun.
