Spring has Sprung here in Scoil Mhuire as Junior and Senior Infants go on a flower hunt around the school, identifying and naming some garden flowers. Paper helicopters: First class dropping their paper helicopters from a height, and watching the blades spin as gravity pulls the helicopter down. First and Second class discovered that lemon juice, baking soda and water mixed created a chemical reaction and blew up this balloon. Environmental awareness and care: Junior and Senior Infants teaching the bigger kids all about "The Solar System". They used different size balls to reflect the size of the different planets, and shared all the interesting facts they've learned about the various planets. We were most amazed to learn that you can fit around 1.3 million Earths in the Sun. Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class learned all about the Solar System!
