Third and Fourth Class

St Patrick’s Day 2022

We Love Reading

The pupils in 3rd and 4th Class recreated the covers of their Favourite Books and themselves reading them to help celebrate World Book Day, Scholastic Book Fair and our love of reading!

What fabulous creations as always

World Book Day 2022

Wow! Is all we can say!!!

There were some amazing “Characters” on display when everyone dressed up as their favourite book character to celebrate World Book Day and our Scholastic Book Fair on 11th March.

Tinfoil Art

3rd and 4th Class had a great fun making Tinfoil Art.

All we needed was: String, Tinfoil and Markers.

Love is all you Need!

We created some Valentine artwork and incorporated the characteristics  that we try to have to be a good friend.

Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost

3rd and 4th Class studied this poem and created their own art work. Here is a sample of some of their work.

Self Portraits

3rd and 4th Class created some really cool self portraits in art. I think we may have some budding artist in our midst!

Christmas Art

It’s beginning to look at lot like Christmas in 3rd and 4th class.

We had great fun painting out winter Robins and the results look fabulous.

Science Week 2021

We had such a fun and exciting week celebrating Science Week in 3rd/4th class!

We did science stations and each day each pod had a different science activity to complete. We learned all about circuits and made our circuits turn on a light, fan and to make a noise.

We also learned how to fit batteries. Each child designed and made a volcano from clay. We will make volcanic explosions when they are dry.

We followed a recipe to make oobleck and had a lot of fun working out if it was a solid or a liquid or both!

Finally, we explored gravity and magnetism by creating different runs for marbles using a set called Gravitrax.

We also completed some exciting experiments using Coke and mentos. We then used the left over coke to experiment the effects of coke on our teeth. We used the bottle from the coke to make a lava lamp. It was a great, interactive week that we all enjoyed.

Friendship Week

We really enjoyed Friendship Week this year and created poems and decorated them as flowers.

We love all the colours, vibrancy and creativity in the poems and flowers.

Dia de los Muertos – Sugar Skulls

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a Mexican holiday celebrated from 31st October to 2nd November that honours deceased loved ones.

Traditions include decorating altars with sugar skulls and marigolds, as well as food and pictures.

The art itself is vibrant, detailed and rich in history.

Halloween 2021

We had great fun dressing up in our Halloween Costumes this year.

Halloween Art

3rd and 4th Class had great fun creating these fabulous  Witches Legs!!!

Falling Leaves

We followed a step by step demonstration on how to draw some autumn leaves. We then painted the leaves using watercolours and finished our artwork by painting a blue background.

We hope you like them!

Hoodies About Us

The children in 3rd/4th class had fun designing hoodies all about themselves.

Each section of the hoody tells us all about themselves: their age, pets and their favourite things.

It’s such a nice activity to do at the start of the year to help us all get to know each other.

They look so bright and colourful in our corridor!

September 2021

Congratulations to all the pupils in 3rd Class who made their First Holy Communion.

School Year 2020 – 2021

World Book Day 2021

The pupils of 3rd and 4th Class made characters from their favourite books for World Book Day.

They combined two of their most loved activities, Art and Reading – making their characters with “Potato Art!”

Geography

3rd and 4th Class researched and created some really interesting and informative projects on European countries.

Some of our students created video and powerpoint presentations – which are well worth a look!
